Sony Bravia KDL32EX503U 32" Full HD LCD TV

Sony released the Bravia KDL32EX503U just in time for the World Cup in South Africa 2010, and with a built in Freeview HD tuner integrated it's the cheapest way (subscription free) to view world cup matches on ITV HD & BBC HD in high definition glory.

The KDL32EX503U has a 32-inch LCD widescreen display, which is complemented by edge LED backlighting to ensure the images displayed are bright and defined, and a screen resolution of 1920x1080 ensures the TV is fully capable of displaying images in full HD 1080p.

To complement the technology used to show the image, Sony has integrated various pieces of software and hardware to improve the image that is to be displayed. Motionflow allows the KDL32EX503U to operate at a refresh rate of 100Hz, double that of many 32-inch models available. Motionflow 100Hz works with both film-based content and standard TV and DVD. Live Colour intelligently boosts reds and greens (two colours difficult to reproduce with LCD) resulting in bright, vibrant and realistic images.

The Bravia Engine 3 (Sony's latest picture processing engine) has been implemented to offer Sony’s most advanced image manipulation capabilities. The engine improves the individual frames of media by concentrating on the colour, contrast and texture.

As mentioned the KDL32EX503U has a built-in Freeview HD tuner which allows for the viewing of all HD Freeview channels along with the channels broadcast in standard definition. Internet connectivity has also been included allowing the TV to connect to the internet and access sites such as YouTube & Love Film. You can either connect the Sony KDL32EX503U to your network via the ethernert port, or if you would prefer a wireless connection you can purchase an additional wireless adapter.

You can use the KDL32EX503U's USB Media Player to connect a wide range of portable devices including cameras, camcorders, memory sticks and mp3 players. The Picture Frame mode is the perfect way to enjoy your photographs, you can even set it to display photographs when it's not in use, essentialy turning the TV into a living artwork!

Along with Sony's other recent releases, the KDL32EX503U has an ambient light sensor which optimises the brightness of the screen depending on the brightness of the room, and also saves power. Other power saving features include idle TV standby mode and PC power management.

In terms of connectivity the Sony KDL32EX503U includes the following: 4x HDMI inputs (2 rear, 2 side), 1x Digital Audio Output (optical), PC Input (15pin D-Sub), Component Input, Composite Video, 1x USB 2.0, MiniJack (Head/Earphone) (mm) 3.5, PCMCIA Card Slot, RCA AV Input, RF In and 2x Scart inputs.
